(Yicai Global) June 14 -- After data theft rumors emerged, Beijing Mobike Technology replied that the company cherishes its users' security and privacy protection and immediately started an investigation upon receiving the intelligence, but has found no data leakage or hacker attack, adding that the online rumors to the contrary are false, state media outlet The Paper reported yesterday.

A screenshot circulated online yesterday showed Mobike user data being bought and sold on the deep web for CNY400,000 (USD62,000).

Reports of data leakage in other online platforms have also recently cropped up.

Barrage video site Guangzhou Acfun Network Technology was hacked, with nearly 10 million items of user data stolen, including user IDs, nicknames and passwords, it announced on its official website yesterday.

Internet users claimed illegal websites were touting these users' data. A screenshot showed 8 million items of Acfun user names, mobile numbers and passwords for sale on the deep web for CNY12,000.
