(Yicai Global) May 10 -- A unit of China National Chemical Engineering Group Co., one of China's largest engineering, procurement and construction firms, has signed multiple infrastructure contracts worth a total of EUR2.6 billion (USD3.0 billion) for infrastructure work in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

China National Chemical Engineering No.7 Construction Co. has won contracts including the construction of a solid waste incineration power plant along with supporting city infrastructure, the Beijing-based firm said.

The power plant's construction will take 36 months, the company said without adding the financial details.

This is the first city project for CNCEC under the framework of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum to help Africa alleviate poverty and achieve sustainable development.

The contracts will help CNE to gain market share in Africa and aid its business transformation and upgrading.
