(Yicai Global) April 10 -- Beijing Ultrapower Software Co. will join hands with China’s leading nuclear power developer, China General Nuclear Power Group, CGN, to jointly develop nuclear Internet of Things technologies and related smart applications.

The nuclear power information security research and development center of CGN inked a framework cooperation agreement with New Singularity International Technical Development Co., a subsidiary of Beijing Ultrapower Software Co., the internet technology developer said in a filing to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange yesterday.

The two parties will work together to jointly build a communications and IOT application laboratory for the research and development of nuclear power-related solutions in the field and will draft wireless communication technology standards for the nuclear power industry, it said in the filing.

The bilateral cooperation will enhance the informatization level of China’s third-generation nuclear power technology, according to the company.

After verification through field tests over the past three years, the company has taken the lead in China and other countries in developing a wireless communication system that fully meets the electromagnetic and information security requirements of nuclear power plants and is able to withstand the high radiation environment of nuclear power technology, it added.

Called Hualong One, the country’s third-generation nuclear power technology has been patented as China’s proprietary intellectual property. The new technology features significant improvements in safety, longevity, thermal efficiency, and fuel technology, China says.
